Redcloak: I'm wondering if there might be some way to experiment with unsealing the gate with less..."zapping."
Monster in the Darkness: Gate? What gate?
- Panel 3
Redcloak: You've been sending goblins through the gate ever since we arrived here, and every one had been killed horribly.
MitD: I've never heard of any gate.
- Panel 4
Xykon: Hey, you know as well as I do that The Plan ain't going anywhere until we unseal that gate.
MitD: I'm not familiar with any gates.
- Panel 5
Redcloak: But using the goblins as guinea pigs is wreaking havoc with goblin morale.
Xykon: Hmm, well, I've got two words for goblin morale:
Xykon: Goblin zombies.
Redclock: Excellent point.
MitD: If there was a gate of some sort, I should have—

Xykon turns on the MitD.
Xykon: Oh, for the love of—LOOK!

The panel pulls back to show the three are stood right next to a gigantic mystical gate.

MitD: Huh. I never noticed that before.

MitD: But anyway, back to this gate I hear so much about...
Xykon puts his head in his hand.

- This is the first appearance of any of the gates, which become part of the main storyline of the comic. This Gate is Dorukan's Gate.
